Start a server

Note: Use a server you trust. The University sandbox cannot launch a server on your machine.

A separate process

An MCP server is a small program that exposes tools over a standard protocol.

Install or run a server from the docs, then keep it running in its own terminal while the agent runs.

Replace the command with a server listed in the MCP docs. The path in the next lesson must match a server you actually have.
