Side View of a Highway Bridge

This diagram represents a side view of a steel truss bridge with a single 200′ clear span. The bridge has a total width of 120′ and a Pratt truss configuration with vertical end posts. The truss is 25′ tall at the center. The floor system consists of steel I-beam stringers spaced at 10′ on center supporting a concrete deck. The bridge has steel railings on both sides and is supported by reinforced concrete piers at the truss ends. The foundations consist of driven steel piles supporting concrete footings under the piers. There are concrete approach slabs at each end of the bridge.
