# Validate Candidate • AI Agent SDK

> validate_candidate: Build/boot the candidate from ``new_config`` and pre-flight it.

# validate\_candidate

> This is a method of the [**ReloadValidationProtocol**](../classes/ReloadValidationProtocol) class in the [**config**](../modules/config) module.

Build/boot the candidate from `new_config` and pre-flight it.

Must not stop or mutate the live runtime; on any failure return a
report with `ok=False` and the reason(s) so the caller keeps the
previous config serving.
