# probe

AsyncMethod

> This is a method of the [**BasePlatformAdapter**](https://praison.ai/docs/sdk/reference/praisonaiagents/classes/BasePlatformAdapter.md) class in the [**base**](https://praison.ai/docs/sdk/reference/praisonaiagents/modules/base.md) module.

Check connectivity/credentials without processing messages.

Default: ok while the default :meth:`start` is running; otherwise a
:meth:`connect` / :meth:`disconnect` round-trip.

## Signature

```python theme={"theme":{"light":"vitesse-light","dark":"vitesse-dark"}}
async def probe() -> ProbeResult
```

### Returns

**Returns** `ProbeResult`

The result of the operation.

## Uses

* `ProbeResult`
* `time.monotonic`
* `connect`
* `contextlib.suppress`
